Columbia College is a private non-profit internaitonal community college situated in the heart of Vancouver city in British Columbia province of Canada. It was established in 1936 with the sole motto of preparing High School passed out students for University environment by providing smaller class room size & individual attention to each student. Approximately 45 % of international students in UBC come from colleges in BC, followed by 10% who come from colleges outside of Canada, and 34% who transferred from a university outside of Canada; in 2011, about 17% of international students in UBC transferred from Columbia College. Students transferring to UBC are admitted at different program year levels depending on the total number of transfer credits completed at sending institutions. In 2011, 29% of international students were admitted to 1st year, 51% to 2nd year and 20% to 3rd year directly.

SPP Requirements:

Columbia College does not admit students under SPP who already have a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree, or have 10+2 or polytech completion earlier than TWO years. Also, in keeping with CIC’s policy of discouraging non-SPP applications to SPP institutions, they can accept applications only from students who qualify to apply for their Study Permit under SPP. Columbia College cannot admit students who have already been refused a Canadian Study Permit.
